You can also select from either a European or British style, depending on what would best suit your building. The former will provide you with a door leaf placed within the main frame, with an overlapping lip, helping you combat against the cool conditions created through draughts. As a result, you will be able to retain warmth and likely see your energy bills reduced.
On the other hand, soundproofing a door British style means you will get something designed to be the same level as the main frame, giving you a flush finish. Both models come with framing and architrave taken from our German factory, which can be supplied in the same finish as the chosen door or something completely different altogether.
Whether you choose European or British styles for soundproofing a door, they will come equipped with a rubber gasket, which has been added to help reduce the often loud noises generated when shutting doors, since the action will take on a more smooth process. The seal in question will match any finish you choose, so you can be sure that this will blend with your current aesthetic.
In order to get the soundproofing you need for optimum noise control, we have made sure to add a drop-down threshold to act as an automatic sealing method to keep the door tightly closed when pressed down on the floor.

Levels of Soundproofing for Doors
There are currently a number of important requirements in terms of soundproofing for doors, set out by DIN18101 (Building Sound Insulation). These clearly stipulate that any soundproofing for door solutions need to be monitored carefully for their insulation levels. It’s worth noting that the current rules for sound insulation Rw, will be referencing a built-in construction door element without any adjacent components such as walls, ceilings and floors.
Measurements for soundproofing doors and the value of any insulation will be completed in a laboratory before being transferred into practice. This allowance value is the difference between the door elements measured beforehand and then the actual soundproofing used in construction, with the current value being 5dB.
Any soundproofing for doors tested in the laboratory is indicated by Rw, P (P = test value). Furthermore, there is a value of Rw, R, with R standing for a calculated value of the following: Rw, R = Rw, P – 5dB (Allowance). For example, the test value (Rw, P) should always be 5dB higher than the value you desire for soundproofing in construction. When on-site, if you want to achieve a sound reduction index of Rw, R = 27dB, then one door element of Rw, P = 32dB must be used.
